Econais SA was founded in February 2008 by 3 engineers with great international administrative and design experience. Its mission is to design and produce internationally innovative solutions for the Internet of Things market. Its products to date are Wi-Fi (embedded Wi-Fi) with a WiSmart family of products, consisting of flexible, stand-alone Wi-Fi subsystems, with integrated processor, powerful TCP-IP and integrated software development environment. The company has been financially supported by international investors through both Angel Investor (2012) and Venture Capital (2013), with a total of € 3 million. The company’s products are sold internationally and its customers use WiSmart providing consumer products and solutions in Smart Home, Industry, etc. The company extends its business to Real-Time Location Systems (Real-Time Location Systems).
Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus
The Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus” is a research and technology organization focusing on research and development in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Particular emphasis is placed on education, by developing and deploying conventional and digital media in education and lifelong learning; publishing printed and electronic educational materials; administrating and managing the Greek School Network; and supporting the organization and operation of the electronic infrastructure of the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and all educational units. Since its establishment in 1985, and in the past decades of rapid technological development, CTI has actively contributed to many of the advances that today are taken for granted.
Distributed Systems and Telematics Laboratory
The Laboratory of Distributed Systems & Telematicsis staffed by 11 people (university professors, post-doctoral students, postgraduate and undergraduate students) and is one of 13 laboratories with the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics in University of Patras, is active in the broader Thematic Area of Next Generation Networks, specifically on issues concerning Mobile Communications Networks, Algorithms and Protocols for High Speed Networks, Cross Layer mechanism, Network simulations and Tests.
